Chapter History

History at St. Mary’s
The Alpha Pi Chapter of Omega Delta Phi began through the Interest Group known as Latinos in Action (LIA) in the fall of 2004. During this year, eight visionaries united together under one common cause, “to create a brotherhood in which diverse cultures can identify with and support the Latino culture; without losing their own identity and culture.” The mission of Latinos in Action was to create the first male multicultural fraternity based on Latino culture on the campus of St. Mary’s University. On February 12, 2005, Omega Delta Phi Club at St. Mary’s University was born. Unity, Honesty, Integrity, and Leadership became the stepping stones that guide our daily and future lives. It is our common goal, to give back to the community in order to provide a balance for the people of tomorrow.
Today, the Alpha Pi Chapter of Omega Delta Phi has faced many obstacles in following the visions and sacraments set by our founders. We have lost many, but out of dust, has risen the true men of what makes our brotherhood. We pledge that the Alpha Pi Chapter of Omega Delta Phi will continue to burn desire for UNITY among our region and the nation. HONESTY which makes our brotherhood so strong. INTEGRITY which makes us true gentlemen, and LEADERSHIP which makes us “Men of Vision” in our community.
